Here We Go!

We’ve strapped on our boots, stuffed every essential (or non-essential) toiletry into our rucksack, not panicked about the lack of Spanish to date (‘it’ll come when we land’), and told ourselves ‘Trump is misunderstood’ – we’re ready!!

Big shout out to all the fans – we’re here for the next 365 days, telling tales of our travels and putting pictures (hopefully Cal fits in a few) up on our home of backpacker stories.

We’ve started with the basics – sat at a bar, drink in hand, waiting for a mammoth journey to commence. Cal slightly nervous about leg-room issues, Rosh worried about Cal moaning about leg-room issues… patterns beginning to emerge then.

With some time before we fly, and given this is our introduction to the trip, we’re giving you our top 3 most looking forward to’s (basically what Lonely Planet told us the highlights are). So lights, camera, trailer…

Rosh is excited for getting down and doing the samba (or the YMCA, whichever comes natural) in Rio at carnival, and a life-long love of foliage also definitely means the mysteries and jungle wonders of the Amazon make the top 3 cut. The final one has to be seeing our wee man Samps in the Big Apple (he’s the Londoner come Brooklynite putting us up for the weekend)!

Cal is lingering onto hopes and dreams of being a half decent footballer and making the South London All Stars proud – so really just hoping for some game time of beach football volleyball in Brazil! Onto less glamorous dreams – wandering through old colonial towns in Colombia and trekking Patagonian mountains following our warm-up in the Scottish Highlands (although scaling heights is less welcome – cue trembling knees and cold sweats).

En route to the boarding gate, What we’re listening to – Don’t Stop Me Now because literally no one can (except US Customs).

Adios for now, and lots of love

Cal & Rosh xxx
